About the door
Can I replace a garage door spring myself?
Don't. Springs hold the door's weight under tension and can badly hurt you. See spring safety.
Why does my door reverse before it closes?
It's usually the sensors, or something under the door. See doors that reverse.
My door won't open and the power is out.
With the door closed, pull the release cord and lift by hand. See opening a door by hand.
Should I repair or replace?
Most broken doors need a repair. See repair or replace for when that changes.
About hiring
